- I found Leftkowich to be great for really cementing knowledge that I had gained from otehr resources, great way to tie it all together. The question stems and answers are much longer than those on the actual test, however they are good for making sure you understand what you've learned, as they test many tidbits simultaneously.

- I used Johns Hopkins cases for a "brain-break" when I didn't feel like I could study any longer. I found running through 3-5 cases felt more like a video game when I had been reading for a long time, and left me feeling more energetic to resume studying. In topics that I hadn't seen as high of volume in (bone!), I went through all the cases, to increase my exposure.

I use this extensively while doing my own case preparation and studying, but I didn't find it especially helpful for boards. I will admit, sometimes when you're reading and something just isn't making sense ("Will that stain be postive? What is the most important of the prognostic factors?"), this website is generally a good, quick resource.

Cytopathology Review. Paperback
- A great review book for cytopatholgoy for the AP boards or the Cytopathology boards.
- Tons of questions, but it goes quickly.
- If you are taking the AP boards, do the Gynecologic chapter and the Thyroid chapter at least.
- Good pictures.
- Clear, concise explanations.

Great resource if you continuously find yourself mixing up two entities, chances are they'll have them listed out with clear and concise comparisons.

The color plates are great for a reference for how bacteria should look. I found that comparing what I was seeing in person to the color plates helped me learn the variation in color and growth that you can expect to see. Another tip: I looked through control plates for organisms with one of our microbiology techs, and for each one, we talked about the biochemical tests needed for workup. Great way to review!

Very dense, but great for when you're really trying to learn it the first time around. Probably a bit much once you're in review mode. The Review Book (the one with questions) is nice for a quick look-through, but I wouldn't consider it necessary.
