Colorado[]
- Penrose-St Francis Health Services Program ( Are you allowed to do external rotations? "Yes. Highly encouraged. Most residents do 2-5 months of away rotations." As of Date:10/2011)
Illinois[]
- University of Chicago (NorthShore) Pathology Program, Evanston IL (paid, 2-4 weeks, does not use vacation time)
Kansas[]
- University of Kansas Program (paid, does not use vacation time)
Massachusetts[]
- Tufts Medical Center Program (paid, 4 weeks, does not use vacation time)
- University of Massachusetts (8 weeks)
Mississippi[]
- University of Mississippi Medical Center Program (paid, does not use vacation time)
New Mexico[]
- University of New Mexico Program (Salary and benefits are provided during away rotation. Away rotations do not use vacation time. If UNM does not offer the sub-speciality training/rotation, they will assist with housing and travel expenses.)
New York[]
- NSLIJHS/Hosftra North Shore-LIJ School of Medicine Program (North Shore Long Island Jewish Health System) (Outside electives allowed on individual basis-Paid)
- Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine (salary and benefits are provided during away rotation. Away rotations do not use vacation time).
Ohio[]
- Cleveland Clinic Residency Program (salary and benefits provided by Cleveland Clinic and do not have to use vacation time but malpractice insurance is not provided by CC. Requests for away rotations must be submitted and approved by the Institute education committee.)
Pennsylvania[]
- Allegheny General Hospital (4 weeks, paid, does not use vacation time. The approval depends on the ability to demonstrate that comparable experience cannot be gained within the program AND is important for the applicant's future practice. Prospective application for a fellowship/faculty position in the outside institution is NOT considered as a valid ground for approval.)
Rhode Island[]
- Brown University (up to 4 weeks, paid, does not use vacation time).
Tennessee[]
- Vanderbilt University Program (1 month, paid, does not use vacation time)
Texas[]
- The Methodist Hospital (Houston) Program (up to 6 months electives allowed, PAID, does not use vacation)
- University of Texas Southwestern Medical School Program (up to 6 months of electives, PAID, does not use vacation time)
